In a typical individual therapy session, you could first expect to share personally about your family history so that I may better get to know you, and your background. In an individual therapy session, any enlightening and eye opening realizations about your life, and the feelings you have about it, can arise at this time. Ancestral patterns, self-destructive cycles, and valuable insights are often revealed during this process. The energy already begins to move as we start getting honest with ourselves. We would then access your goals; what you would want to achieve from your session(s), what changes you would like to see in your life and in yourself, and what your life might look like if that were to occur.
Why Individual Therapy Sessions?
The opportunity to explore your relationship with yourself, your mind/body and your feelings, provides a fascinating learning experience. People are often surprised that they learn something new about themselves that they had not known before. Others confirm something very important that they had already known, that helps them to feel validated, find new hope, acceptance, or compassion for themselves. Some people become keenly aware of how tight they feel in certain places in their bodies; we could begin to slowly explore those regions. Others begin to feel emotion come up, and then we could help you to follow it, deepen it, even release it. There is then “purpose” work to integrate your experience, so that you can use it in your life.
